Ruby's Catch-up is an original Lucy Watts acrylic painting with oil glaze. Lucy says, "just outside our backdoor is a giant ruby grapefruit tree. Each year it produces an abundance of fruit with an alluring orange skin that slowly turns to a rich pink as each fruit piece ripens. Inevitably jars of my father's delicious ruby grapefruit marmalade and our grapefruit/orange version of middle eastern orange cake follow. An enticing creative inspiration which, this time, led me to the studio!".
